Martins Indi knows Stoke must tighten up at the back
Stoke City are still awaiting their first league win of the season and defender Bruno Martins Indi knows his side must tighten up at the back to stand a chance.
The Dutch international – who is on loan from FC Porto – is part of a back line that have not kept a clean sheet in their first six league encounters.
The Potters are currently second bottom in the table with two draws to their name but Martins Indi – who has 31 Dutch caps to his name – insists his side can turn the corner.
“I feel good with everybody here – we defend together as a team and we have to work together as a team also,” he said.
“I feel that I am developing myself in the Premier League, but now I just want to get some more points in the Premier League and get my first zero on the board.
“We want that clean sheet, because so far we haven’t done that yet, but I know that we will get there.
“As a defender the first thing I am thinking is to keep a clean sheet – that is my first priority in each game I play.”

Next up for Mark Hughes’ side is a clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford – a ground they have not won at in over 40 years.
“Manchester United will be a big test for us, just as every game is in football, but I am looking at it positively,” he added.
“I know Jose Mourinho from my time in the game and I think I have won one and lost one against him, but we are playing all of Manchester United and not just Jose.”
He added: “They are a very good team – the players wouldn’t be at Manchester United if they weren’t, but we have very good players also, so we will go there in the right mind.”
