Mazzarri wants Watford greatness
It has been a Premier League baptism of fire for Walter Mazzarri at Watford, but the Italian finally feels he has a handle on life in England and is ready to build a legacy in Hertfordshire.
Mazzarri’s men came back from the brink of what would have been a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, turning things around to beat West Ham 4-2 at London Stadium.
The Italian had never managed outside of his home country before taking the reins at Vicarage Road and life looked pretty dreary for the 54-year-old former Inter Milan manager at 2-0 down.

Dimitri Payet’s moment of magic helped back Mazzarri into the corner, but his players came good for him, leaving the head coach in exceptional spirits.
“I am very, very happy, especially to produce a win in a game where we were losing by two,” he said.
“The first win is extremely important for our confidence. The group knows we can do more.
“West Ham had the whole stadium with them. They came to us in a positive way but we started playing our football and the result came our way.
“I am a new manager here at Watford. I hope we can now build great things.”
