Rashford learning to be a winner at Manchester United from Zlatan

Few would deny Marcus Rashford’s status as one of the hottest prospects in world football, but the Manchester United forward admits he still has plenty to learn to live up to his strike partner at Old Trafford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has lit up the Premier League since his summer arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, scoring six times for Jose Mourinho’s men in all competitions.

And along with club captain Wayne Rooney, it is the 35-year-old that Rashford is hoping can teach him the killer instinct needed to survive at the highest level.

Ibrahimovic, a winner of 31 trophies during his goal-laden career, is not prepared to accept anything but success, according to Rashford.

“It has been amazing,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of world-class players in the team, especially in the forwards like Zlatan and Wayne.

“For the young lads, we can’t ask for anything better. The likes of me, Anthony and Jesse – watching these forwards play and how they train, their mentality, is so important.

“You can’t ask for more. Zlatan is very easy to speak to and he’s easy to get along with. The way he approaches every game is about winning.

“He wants to win, regardless of the opponent, whether we are home or away, whatever the odds, he always wants to find a way to win.

“That mentality is what you need to be at the top level. That is where he is and where he has been for years.”
