Simpson keen to keep up Leicester’s proud home record

Leicester have gone a calendar year without losing at home, and Danny Simpson is eager for that record to continue.

Tuesday was a momentous occasion for City, marking their first ever home Champions League tie with a 1-0 victory over Porto.

But the fans should not have been surprised that the Foxes came away with all three points as Leicester last lost in front of their home fans in league action against Arsenal back in September 2015.

And defender Simpson wants that record to continue as Leicester bid to climb back up the Premier League table.

Danny Simpson

“With the crowd behind us, on our day at home we can beat anyone,” the 29-year-old said.

“I’m not sure when the last league game we lost at home was, but we make it tough for teams coming here.

“This season especially that will be important. We’ve found it tough at times away from home so home form will be massive for us.

“That first Champions League game at King Power Stadium was special for everyone involved.”
