Tom Heaton insists Burnley can improve further

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton is confident Burnley are better prepared for the Premier League than they were two years ago, but he insists they can still improve further.

The Clarets already have two wins on the board this season whereas in their last season in the top flight it took them 11 games to earn their first three points.

The Turf Moor side were relegated at the end of the 2014/15 season before bouncing back from the Championship at the first time of asking.

A much improved start to the campaign was one of the club’s main targets according to Heaton, who hopes to recover from injury in time for Sunday’s game against Southampton.

“It’s one of the things we highlighted, to try and come out a bit faster,” he said.

“We’ve got two wins on the board, that was important for us, and it was two excellent wins.

“There’s excitement around. We could be stood here with more points on the board, we’re not, we’ve got seven, we’re doing alright and we’re still building and improving.

“We’ve got a few different strings to the bow and the Arsenal game was a good showcase of that.

“We’re learning all the time and we’re improving all the time and that was another highlight of it.”
