Walker hails Lloris Spurs heroics

World-class saves are becoming par for the course from Hugo Lloris according to Kyle Walker, after the Frenchman produced another great stop in Saturday’s goalless draw with Bournemouth.

The Spurs skipper flung out a leg to deny Charlie Daniels from close range, diverting the ball onto the bar.

That followed his stunning stop on the line from Javier Hernandez against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek as the Frenchman helped Tottenham to another clean sheet in the Champions League.

However Walker, who was playing in his 200th game for Spurs, admits they need to rediscover their scoring touch after missing the chance to go top of the table.

He said: “We defended well, it’s another clean sheet for us but we couldn’t find that finishing touch. It was compact in there, they crowded us out and Dele (Alli) didn’t have much space. It’s a learning curve for us.

“We’re going to come up against this a lot this season, people will more defensive so we need to be cute and try and break them down.

“Full credit to Hugo, he’s a top class keeper. He shows it week in, week out. He’s a great captain as well. It’s kind of becoming normal now.

“We’re still undefeated which is a great achievement and long may it continue.”
