Zouma already making his mark on Conte even before his Chelsea return
Kurt Zouma may not have played a senior game for his new head coach Antonio Conte but the centre back has already made a big impact on the Italian.
Zouma has been out of first team action since February when he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
The Blues have since changed their head coach with former Italy manager Conte arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Zouma made his return to competitive action on Monday though during the Under-23s’ 2-2 draw with Derby County and Conte believes the defender, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Thursday, has a very bright future.

Conte said: “Zouma played a game with the Under-23s and the physical answer was good. Now we prefer him to play another game on Monday and if it’s all okay he will come back to us.
“I am very happy because I can have another central defender and a good central defender, a young one with great potential.”
Cesc Fabregas is another who is closing in on a return following a muscular problem.
Conte added: “Fabregas stayed with us in a part of the training session on Friday, when we tried offensive movements, and I think he will be ready next week.”
