Albion boss Pulis hails class clown Gardner
Craig Gardner may not have featured prominently this season but West Brom boss Tony Pulis says he is one of the most important players in the Midlanders’ squad.
The 29-year-old, known for his versatility, has not started a Premier League match since August and has fallen behind Ireland’s James McClean in the Albion pecking order.
However, McClean is suspended for Sunday’s game at defending champions Leicester and Gardner is tipped to make a return to the team.
And Pulis heaped praise on the midfielder for his attitude and work ethic, two characteristics the Welshman says he needs as he plots to keep West Brom in the Premier League once more.

“Gards’ quality is off the pitch as well as on the pitch,” said Pulis.
“He will work hard to get that group together when things aren’t going well and I appreciate that immensely.
“You need one or two off the pitches who are bubbly characters and can bring the squad together and Craig does that.
“Craig’s a fantastic lad around the football club. He’s got a great attitude, he’s up to mischief all the time. He builds that togetherness up and you need that little mix.”
