Winger believes Watford are ready to surprise Liverpool once again

Watford winger Nordin Amrabat is confident his side can once again surprise Liverpool as they look to repeat one of their best ever performances in the Premier League.

The Hornets were widely tipped for relegation during the 2015/16 campaign but in December last year they stunned Liverpool with a superb 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road.

The Hertfordshire club had been relegated in both of their previous seasons in the Premier League so the emphatic win over the Reds last season is among their best since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.

Amrabat did not arrive in England until the following month but has since become a regular member of the squad this season after the forward impressed following his introduction at right wing-back.

The Morocco international was part of the Golden Boys’ side who beat Hull City 1-0 at the weekend to ensure they head to Anfield on Sunday in seventh place.

“We played really well, we created a lot of chances, we deserved to win and we are happy that we won the game,” Amrabat said.

“Now we are going to see next week, when we go to Liverpool away. It will be a nice game, but a tough game, and hopefully we can do something that people don’t expect.

“I think everybody Is looking forward to playing at Anfield, we have got a lot of confidence and this week we are going to train hard for sure, and the coach will prepare us well, we will listen to him and hopefully we can surprise them (Liverpool) as well.

“We have a lot of confidence, we are playing well. When you look to the Middlesbrough game we weren’t good, Swansea first half wasn’t good but we need to play like we did against Hull. If we play from behind we create more.”
