Routledge backing Swans to turn it around
Swansea have what it takes to escape their relegation battle according to winger Wayne Routledge.
The 32-year-old has extended his stay at the Liberty Stadium, signing a new contract through to 2019 which would take him into a ninth year at the club.
The Swans have endured a disastrous season so far, with both Francesco Guidolin and then Bob Bradley fired and the club sitting just outside the relegation zone.
But under new boss Paul Clement, they got a stunning 3-2 win against Liverpool at Anfield to edge out of the bottom three.
Their biggest weakness has been in defence, with 51 goals conceded, the most in the league, but Routledge insists the players are working hard to turn things around and he’s confident they have the quality to survive.

“We are not in a great position right now, but we are working very hard each day to rectify that,” he said.
“The result at Liverpool showed what we are capable of.
“Hopefully it can give us a boost and has set a platform for us to produce more performances like that to move up the table.
“We have only touched the surface of what we are capable.”
