Adam keen to sign new Stoke contract
Mark Hughes may be looking to lower the average age of his Stoke City squad this summer, but Charlie Adam is one over-30s star who is desperate to extend his stay.
The Scottish midfielder joined Stoke five years ago from Liverpool, but his impact has not been as great as initially expected β with a first-team place hard to come by under Mark Hughes.
Stoke look set for another mid-table finish in the Premier League this season, but the club has made little progress this year, and Hughes is expected to sell many of his current squad.

But Adam has often impressed when called upon, with his wand of a left foot a regular source of goals and assists for Hughes from the bench.
And now the 31-year-old is eyeing up a new deal at Stoke, even though Hughes has publicly declared his aim is to lower the average age of his squad.
“I’m looking to extend as soon as possible. This is a terrific club and I’ve had a great few years here,β he said.
βIt’s constantly evolving, with better and better players being brought in all the time. That can make it harder to get a game, right enough, but I enjoy that sort of challenge.”
