Ayew: I’ve found a happy home at Swansea
Jordan Ayew insists he has rediscovered his mojo at Swansea City after netting his first goal for the club at the weekend.
The striker, who is the younger brother of West Ham forward Andre Ayew, joined the club in January from Aston Villa – but it took him four months to score his first goal for the club, against West Brom at the weekend.
Swansea finished a dark season on a high and now carry momentum into the summer break, and Ayew admits he is feeling far happier than he ever did at Villa Park – where he was part of the side which suffered relegation last year.
“It has not been easy for me this season. I came from Aston Villa in January. I was lucky the club had confidence in me and brought me here,” he said.
“I don’t know what to say – thank you is not enough. I am so happy here. I feel like I have been reborn.
“The supporters have been wonderful. The gaffer, the staff – everyone has been wonderful to me. I just thank God.
“It was not easy this year, but I thank God. I really believe in God and without him I wouldn’t be where I am today.
“I thank him and I thank Swansea for giving me this chance.”
