Vokes eyeing further Premier League success with Burnley
Sam Vokes believes that the future is bright at Burnley.
The Wales striker’s haul of ten Premier League goals helped the Clarets safeguard their top-flight status last season, with Sean Dyche’s side finishing 16th in the table.
Vokes is keen for Burnley to kick on and garner further success next term, which he reckons will be aided with the club’s £10.5million Barnfield Training Centre, which opened its doors in May.
“We want to sustain this and build on it,” said the 27-year-old, who notched five times in his last five appearances of the season.
“It’s great to enjoy now – staying in the league – but for us, it’s about looking forward.
“We’ve got a great new training ground, great facilities, and with the club in a good place, it’s a great chance to move forward.
“Everyone enjoys arriving in the morning – not that we ever didn’t!
“But it’s great to come in and have these facilities to work at now.
“It feels like a proper Premier League club now and I’m sure it will help in the future in attracting players, and also building on those while they are here.”
Vokes is currently preparing for Wales’ World Cup qualifier against Serbia in Belgrade on June 11.
