Karius adamant Liverpool have work to do
Liverpool’s fast start to the season does not mean trophies will necessarily follow, according to goalkeeper Loris Karius – who says there is still a lot of hard work to be done.
Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Sunderland showed the Reds have as much grit and determination as flair and ability, after they ground David Moyes’ side down before netting two late goals.
That victory keeps them second in the Premier League table, just one point off table-toppers Chelsea and ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Liverpool fans are already getting excited for a title challenge this season, but Karius insists they have achieved nothing yet.
“It still feels like it’s a very long way away,” he said. “There are a lot of games to play. We can’t look that far ahead.
“Of course it feels good for the whole team when you look at the table every week and you stay up there.
“I think this season is going to be very close. There are very good teams at the top so we need to focus and keep on going.
“The clean sheets are a good feeling for everyone. We are staying concentrated for the full 90 minutes. I wouldn’t mind a third in a row next weekend.”
