Arsenal’s Iwobi disappointed as strikes go down as own goals
Alex Iwobi was left disappointed on Saturday night after failing to lay claim to Arsenal’s second goal which went down as a Jack Cork own goal.
The 20-year-old stuck two shots that were deflected into the back of the net during Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Swansea on Saturday with both going down as own goals.
The first was accredited to Cork while Kyle Naughton was the unfortunate defender for Arsenal’s third goal after 67 minutes.
But Iwobi felt his first strike was on target prior to the deflection of Cork and admitted his side had been given the hurry up by manger Arsene Wenger at half-time.
“I’m claiming the first one. It’s on target so I’m going to claim that one,” Iwobi said. “Second one I can let slide, but the first one is definitely my goal. That one at least, I’m praying it’s my goal.

“The boss got onto us a bit saying we know we can do better, just keep on moving the ball quickly, as fast as we can.
“In the second half we showed our quality and were able to get the three points.
“Swansea gave us a difficult start, they pressed us really well and they also kept the ball and were on the front foot.
“It was a great performance from us and at the end of the day we were able to get the three points.”
