Fuchs hopes Leicester City have revived their season

Left-back Christian Fuchs is hoping Leicester City use their successful past week as a springboard to Premier League survival in the remainder of the season.

After dropping into the bottom three last month, the Foxes were in danger of becoming the first defending champions of England to be relegated since 1938.

Following the controversial sacking of title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri they have, however, eased those fears by recording back-to-back wins under caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare.

The Foxes followed up their 3-1 victory over Liverpool by defeating Hull City by the same score on Saturday, with Fuchs scoring a vital equaliser with what was only his second goal for the club.

Fuchs said: “We’ve still got a few games to go and we want to get some more points on the board. There’s 11 more games and we want to get as many points as possible.

“We have another game in a couple of weeks (against West Ham). We obviously want to stay in the Premier League so these were two good steps in the right direction.”

Leicester are now five points clear of the relegation zone after rediscovering some of last season’s form, which led to consecutive league wins for the first time since April 2016.
