Liverpool target Raul Jimenez has hinted he could be interested in a move to the Premier League this summer from current club Benfica.

The Mexican striker has been in action for his national team at the Confederations Cup, and has long been linked with a move to West Ham.

However Liverpool are now believed to have entered the race for his signature as they look to boost their striking options.

Jimenez, who is 26, has scored 12 goals over two seasons at Benfica, having previously spent one year at Atletico Madrid.

And it now appears that Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the striker to Anfield, with Jimenez open to the possibility.

“The Premier League is a great championship, but you have to wait,” he said. “I don’t close any doors and we’ll see what happens.

“I’m still at Benfica. Now, I’m going to have a good vacation then go back to work with everything.

“I saw the news came out but I don’t know anything. I was concentrating on the national team. I have a date to return to Benfica, to join the pre-season games and I’m in the club’s hands.”

Liverpool have already brought in Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah this summer, while they are being strongly linked to RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.

Demarai Gray was perhaps the only real highlight for Leicester City last season, and the 21-year-old winger says he had to become more consistent to make an impact with the Foxes.

Leicester’s defence of their incredible Premier League triumph was far from perfect, with manager Claudio Ranieri sacked after a woeful first half of the season.

But Gray seemed oblivious to the club’s problems each time he came onto the pitch, offering youthful exuberance and fresh enthusiasm that lifted the crowd.

And the former Birmingham City youngster admits he is loving life in the east Midlands.

“It’s the Premier League, it’s another level,” he said.

“Everything is nice and close because it’s quite a small city, so everyone is involved and the fans are good too.

“The facilities here (Belvoir Drive) and at the stadium are good and I’ve got what I need to develop.

“At the time Leicester were second or first in the league so I thought there was something good going on here.

“It’s close to home, which is perfect, and meeting up with Claudio Ranieri at the time was good, because he did a lot for me to make me the player I am now.

“I thought it was the right time for me to step up to a bigger stage and I couldn’t turn it down.”

Speculation is building that Charly Musonda may be allowed to leave Chelsea this summer with Brendan Rodgers indicating Scottish champions Celtic are interested.

The 20-year-old has struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge since arriving in 2012 from Anderlecht.

The first half of last season was spent on loan at Real Betis but there were suggestions he could be part of Antonio Conte’s plans after the Chelsea manager brought him into the Chelsea squad in January.

However he is still yet to play for the club and rumours are gathering pace that he may be set for the exit door.

Celtic manager Rodgers revealed that the Scottish club had already concluded a deal for a player of ‘substantial pedigree and quality,’ with that individual widely though to be Musonda.

“He is young but is a big talent who has got experience. It’s good money that will be spent on him,” Rodgers said of his unnamed prospective signing.

“We have players who can play there but it’s about getting pace and power and also another one that can make the last pass.

“I felt that was something I wanted to add. We are hopeful we can get that.

“Look at Liverpool with Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez and [Philippe] Coutinho. Bright, clever players who can disorganise defenders. They can attack but they also need to have the profile to press.”

And when pushed on whether Musonda was the player he was referring to, Rodgers replied: “He’s a very good player.”

Burnley manager Sean Dyche believes interest surrounding his star players can only serve as a compliment to the club.

Reports have suggested prize asset Michael Keane could be on his way to Everton for a figure in the region of £30million.

Striker Andre Gray is another Clarets star rumoured to be touting suitors from fellow Premier League clubs but Dyche believes any interest in his players as a good thing.

“It’s a compliment first of all to the players,” the Burnley boss said.

“In my style of management I can only guide them and offer them what I think is appropriate and good for them.

“I’m pleased with Keano in the longer run because when we first signed him I had quite a long talk with him and his family about what we were as a club, what I think he could gain, what I thought his part of it was, what I thought my part and my staff’s part of it would be and, from then to now, I’d like to think we’ve ended up with that pathway. It’s where I said it could go to.

“I’m pleased with that because I like to think I’m being honest and authentic with all my players. I try and stay true to my word.”

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis is renowned for keeping his sides defensively resolute and notoriously difficult to beat.

And if recent reports are to be believed, Pulis is set to bolster the Baggies’ backline with the signing of a World Cup winner.

Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber is set to be available after being told by Carlo Ancelotti he is surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.

The 28-year-old, who has been at Bayern for 15 years, has made 31 appearances for Germany, scoring once in a 6-1 win over Azerbaijan in 2010.

The versatile defender can operate at centre-half or left-back, and was part of the Germany side which won the World Cup in 2014.

He joined Schalke 04 on loan in January, and made 10 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen outfit.

The Baggies finished the 2016-17 Premier League campaign in tenth, having spent much of the season in eighth.

However, a slump in form towards the end of the season meant Pulis’ side only just secured a top-half finish.

Swansea City, managed by former Bayern Munich assistant Paul Clement, are another top-flight side reportedly keen on Badstuber’s services.

Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has hailed new signing Jonas Lossl as a “modern goalkeeper” who will fit in seamlessly with his squad.

Lossl has joined the Terriers on a season-long loan from German club FSV Mainz 05.

The 28-year-stopper made 34 appearances in all competitions for Mainz last season. He is a Danish international, and won his only cap against Scotland in March 2016.

Lossl has featured in France and his native Denmark, and Wagner believes he will bring undoubted quality to the West Yorkshire outfit.

Jermain Defoe admits his family are delighted he made the switch back to Bournemouth after starting his career at the Cherries.

The prolific striker had a successful loan spell at Bournemouth as a teenager – netting 10 times in as many games.

And after deciding to leave Sunderland when the Black Cats suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, Defoe admits he’s not the only member of his family delighted with the move.

He said: “We always hoped at some point later on down the line that I would get an opportunity to represent this club again,” said Defoe, who has signed a three-year deal.

New Watford signing Kiko Femenia is confident he can use his experience of playing in Spain as he tries to adapt to the English game at Vicarage Road.

The 26-year-old Spanish full-back has joined from Alavès and will be a key figure for new manager Marco Silva this season.

He has previous experience of playing for the B teams of both Real Madrid and Barcelona, and has spent the last two seasons with Alavès.

And having joined on a four-year deal, he is confident he will take to the English game in his first spell outside Spain.

He said: “I’m extremely happy to be here in this great club.

“I hope the team has a very good season and hopefully I can do the same.

“I came here first of all because it’s a new, unique experience.

“It’s a chance that not every player has, to play in England.

“I come here to give everything I have and to do my best.

“I’m privileged enough to have played against the best teams in the world in Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“When you play against them you learn a lot.

“It’s completely different here, but I want to adapt myself and use my experience from there in this league.

“My ambition is to play as many minutes as possible in the team, to help the team finish as high as possible and to have a great season.”

Frank de Boer has vowed to give young players the opportunity to prove their worth at Crystal Palace.

The Dutchman, who won 112 caps for Holland during his playing days, took the reins at Selhurst Park this week after previous spells at Ajax and Inter Milan.

And while it is expected he will dip into the transfer market to strengthen his squad, de Boer has also pledged to ensure talented youngsters get a run in red and blue.

He pinpointed Ivory Coast international winger Wilfried Zaha, a product of Palace’s academy, as a shining example of what youngsters nurtured in the right way could achieve.

“He has been a key player over the years and it is nice to see that he likes to play for Crystal Palace, and wants to be that key player,” he said.

“That is the kind of player you want to see if you go to a game.

“The academy has raised some good players and I will give youth the opportunity when they are good enough.

“It will be interesting to see how talented the players are and if they can have some hours on the training pitch, that will be great. That will give them confidence and good experience.”
