Tony Pulis’ West Brom side are seeking their fifth home win on the bounce as they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.

But Pulis has urged his players to ensure they produce a winning performance ahead of a daunting run of fixtures against the league’s top sides.

Albion have not lost to a team outside the current top seven, a run that stretches back 16 games to September and has helped Pulis’ side reach 40 points already this season.

“Half of the games remaining are against the top six or seven teams so we know there’s going to be a run of games that we’re going to struggle to get anything out of,” said Pulis.

“That’s coming so I’ll keep my feet on the ground and make sure the players will as well.”

And their good form has meant selection headaches aplenty for Pulis, who is enjoying the number of his squad who are putting their hands up with good performances.

“It’s fantastic to have that problem,” he said.

“The last couple of weeks have been the only time since I’ve been here that I’ve been leaving people out who should be in the team because others have played so well to keep them out. It’s brilliant.”

Burnley have improved their away form recently by not worrying about their lack of results on the road according to skipper Tom Heaton.

The Clarets have picked up just two points away from Turf Moor all season – the second of those coming at Hull last weekend.

But while the results have not been forthcoming, Heaton believes recent performances on their travels have been much improved.

He said: “The last six, seven or eight performances (away) have been very good. We haven’t picked up the results until recently at Hull, but we’ve played top sides and come very close. We’re looking to build on that now.

“It’s been strange but it is what it is. You’re going away to a Premier League side, it can be tough. I can’t give any logic behind it. Everyone makes a big deal of it and it can become a bigger thing. We’ve tried to avoid that distraction. We’ve done that of late.”

Michael Keane scored the equaliser at the KCOM Stadium with a fine finish, belying his role as a defender, but Heaton explained that it’s simply the result of the work he puts in at training on his shooting.

He added: “He loves it, Keano, he’s always at the shooting drills, left and right foot trying to put it past the keeper, whenever he gets the chance.

“I thought he took it really well in fairness to him so we’re really pleased with that but it was no surprise to me.”

Bottom-place Sunderland face a huge task in attempting to turn over Pep Guardiola’s in-form Manchester City at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, but Fabio Borini claims they have one man who he knows won’t shirk the challenge.

Guardiola’s side put five past Huddersfield Town in their FA Cup replay last night and have 21 goals in their last seven fixtures, while Sunderland are two points adrift of 19^th-place Hull City in the Premier League.

Striker Borini has just one goal – against Manchester United on Boxing Day – in 12 Premier League appearances this year, with Jermain Defoe’s 14 strikes picking up some of the slack.

And with 12 games remaining and yet another relegation battle for David Moyes’ men, Borini believes his best is yet to come.

“They are pressure games and not everyone can play in those types of games, but I know when the pressure is on I perform at my best,” the 25-year-old said.

“I keep calm and I have experience which can help my performances, and the manager and my team-mates know that I can give the team goals and results.

“This weekend we have to stay in the game and to do that we need to defend well. It might be ugly and if we score it might be scrappy, but it doesn’t matter how we do it. We showed those qualities against Liverpool and Tottenham earlier in the season, so we know hard work can give us results.”

Bournemouth keeper Aaron Ramsdale is settling into life on the south coast as he bids to force his way into Eddie Howe’s thoughts for a first-team place.

The 18-year-old moved from Sheffield United in the January transfer window and is growing accustomed to training with a Premier League outfit every day.

Ramsdale has travelled to top flight away games with the squad to get a feel for the step up in leagues.

And the young keeper, who has represented England at under-19 level, believes he is progressing well at his new club, where he is contracted until 2021.

“It’s a lot more intense,” said Ramsdale.

“The players here are world class and it’s a different level, I’m coping well and not sticking out like I’m doing anything wrong.

“I need to keep grafting on the training ground and see where that gets me by the end of the season.

“You can’t allow yourself to be fazed, if you do that and can’t speak to the senior professionals then you won’t have a career because they need me as much as I need them.

“It was strange at first but as soon as you get on the pitch you’ve just got to get on with it.”

Out of favour for periods this season, Sergio Aguero is firmly back in Pep Guardiola’s good books after the Spaniard lavished praise on his record-breaking goalscorer.

His two strikes in the 5-1 FA Cup replay win over Huddersfield on Wednesday night made him the club’s leading post-war FA Cup goalscorer.

He added an assist into his stats and Guardiola, who had preferred new signing Gabriel Jesus in early 2017 before the Brazilian picked up a long-term injury, admitted Aguero is at the top of his game.

“It’s the best performance I’ve ever seen from Sergio,” said Pep.

“He scored two goals and created a lot of chances. When he plays at that level, he’s unstoppable. We are so happy with how he played.”

But it was not just Aguero that the boss picked out for praise, with Guardiola also highlighting the performance of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo – despite his howler leading to Huddersfield’s opening goal from Harry Bunn.

“The performance from Claudio Bravo was amazing, too,” added Guardiola.

“He helped us build up well and his moments and his saves gave us the continuity to play.

“I know I can count on him. I want to congratulate him on how he played.”

Leicester City have been abject for large parts of this season but left-back Christian Fuchs claims the Foxes of last year returned in the recent victory over Liverpool.

Leicester roared to an impressive 3-1 win against the Reds on Monday night, just days after the man who led them to a surprise Premier League title last season – Claudio Ranieri – was unceremoniously sacked.

Ranieri’s departure came amid rumours he had lost the support of the Foxes dressing room, with the Midlands outfit languishing in the relegation zone.

Against Liverpool, the team certainly looked considerably better under interim boss Craig Shakespeare and Fuchs insists all the external noise only motivated the squad.

“Obviously there was a lot of things written in the media,” said the Austrian. “From a player’s perspective and as a team it simply fired us up.

“These fans behind us cheered every action that we did, whenever we won a tackle we fired them up, they were a great support. You saw the Leicester of last season and we will try to build upon this game.

“We were fired up from minute one and we wanted to show everybody what we were made of.

“Everybody was working hard for the team. I’m very proud of the team and thanks to the fans for their support.

“We were digging deep very well. Everybody was fighting for the win that we urgently needed – they felt what intensity we were putting on the pitch, it was a great atmosphere in the stadium.

“It’s not easy for any team to come here and take three points away. Every match for us is a final. We can build up on this game and we’re looking forward to the next one.”

Victor Moses believes he is at one of the top clubs in world football after signing a two-year extension to his contract at Chelsea.

The 26-year-old has been a key part of Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 formation this year. filling in at right wing-back for the Blues.

He has helped Chelsea build a ten-point lead over Tottenham in second in the Premier League and his side are clear favourites for the league title.

“I’ve always wanted to play for this big club, it’s one of the best clubs in the world at the moment and I’m enjoying every single minute,” he said.

“I just want to keep on working hard and helping my team-mates out. I feel very excited. I’m delighted to be here for another few years now and to sign a new deal.

“Now it’s time to concentrate on the team and keep working hard to make sure we win games and try to win the Premier League this season.

“We’re having a great season, I’m enjoying my football and we have a good manager here that has given every single one of us confidence.

“I just want to keep on enjoying it and working hard for the team.”

Former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia has called on the current crop of Reds to stick together as they bid to reignite their top-four challenge against Arsenal on Saturday.

Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to champions Leicester City on Monday means they have won just two of their 12 matches in all competitions since the turn of the year.

Hyypia, who won six major trophies at Liverpool including the 2005 UEFA Champions League, insists that all sides suffer from bad form at some stage in the season.

And the Finn believes Jurgen Klopp’s men must unite and trust in their own ability as they approach what could be another pivotal match in their season.

“Every team goes through a bad patch in the season, but it’s important that you sort things out quickly and maybe concentrate on the simple things that you have to do right rather than doing things [that are] too complicated,” he said.

“It’s very important to stick together and trust the way you are playing. You have to help each other on the pitch even more.

“I’ve been in the situation where games are not going your way many times and [sometimes people] look to blame somebody else, other than themselves. I think you have to look at yourself first and do your job properly and also help others around you.

“Pointing fingers at people around, at everybody else, doesn’t take you further, it only makes things more complicated. Everyone has to have the belief and the trust that we are doing the right things and I think that’s the way to go forward.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the hero of Manchester United’s EFL Cup win over Southampton but the Swede has already set his sights on bringing home more silverware this season.

United were victorious at Wembley for the second time this term, having already won the Community Shield against Leicester back in August, with Ibrahimovic again providing the winner.

And with Jose Mourinho’s team still involved in both the FA Cup and Europa League, and sixth in the Premier League, Ibrahimovic is eager to add to his trophy collection.

The 35-year-old explained: “Every trophy is special, every trophy is important, this is what we play for.

“We don’t play for one trophy particularly, you have players that won one trophy – the World Cup, the Champions League… and then they didn’t win anything. You need to win every trophy you play for. That’s what I do.

“We have another three to play for. We work hard. We believe in what we are doing.

“Of course when you win a trophy, it gives you more confidence and the statistics speak for themselves – we could win five trophies, we have two and we have another three to play for. So let’s see what happens.”

It truly will have been a dream season for Ibrahimovic if United finish with five trophies, although given their position in the league, the FA Cup and Europa League are much more likely routes to silverware.

Hull City boss Marco Silva insists he is taking each game as it comes as he continues his battle to lift the Tigers out of the Premier League relegation zone.

City currently sit in 19th, two points ahead of basement side Sunderland but two points from safety.

They picked up just one win throughout February, coming at home to Liverpool at the start of the month.

But with a trip to struggling champions Leicester City coming up next on Saturday, Silva is keen to see his team place all their focus on the game at hand.

“Every game we play is a big opportunity for us to take points and move up the table,” he said.

“We need to think game by game and right now we only think about Leicester on Saturday. They have had a change in management and when this happens, there is normally a change in the performance of the team.

“We need to be ready for this situation, but what we really need to focus on is our own work and to do it to our best on the pitch.”

Following this weekend’s visit to the King Power Stadium, Hull face Swansea in their next Premier League clashes, another side battling to avoid the drop.

And these, Silva admits, are ties that his side must be at their absolute best for.

“This is a normal situation of facing different types of teams,” added Silva.

“Against Burnley last weekend we played slightly differently because they came to play a direct game.

“You need to prepare for all games because different teams bring different types of games and you need to be ready for each one.

“We need to improve, but it is the normal things that we need to improve. This is a big fight that we are in until the end of May and we must continue to work hard every day.”
